Ken Senisi: Former Head Men’s Lacrosse at Howard Community College

Coach Senisi began playing lacrosse as a child growing up in Massapequa, New York. While playing for St. John the Baptist, Coach Senisi was recognized two-times as an all Long Island Defenseman. He then continued playing both lacrosse and football at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts.

At Dean College, Senisi was selected as the first ever two sports captain. As the recipient of the Male Athlete of the Year at Dean College, he was also honored as an All-American Defenseman and was inducted into the Dean College Hall of Fame. Upon completion at Dean College, he played in the North-South All-Star game at Johns Hopkins University.

He continued his collegiate lacrosse career at Salisbury University. Upon graduating from Salisbury University, Senisi began a teaching and coaching career in Howard County, Maryland. In 1999, he began coaching at Centennial High School.

In 2005, he moved to Marriotts Ridge High School where he was the Defensive Coordinator, coaching the team to its first regional championship and first final four state appearance. In 2008, Senisi returned to Centennial High School serving as the Defensive Coordinator.

In his first year returning to Centennial, he coached the team to the state championship game. In the summer of 2011, Coach Senisi was selected as the Howard Community College Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach.

In his first year at HCC, he took his team to the regional XX championship. The HCC Dragons completed their season ranked 6th in the country.  In his second year, the team played in the semi-final regional XX game and finished their season ranked 7th in the country.  

Several of Coach Senisi’s players have continued their lacrosse careers at Division I, II, and III colleges and universities across the  country. He has also coached several all star and showcase lacrosse games, most notably, the Under Armor Junior College All-American  Game in Towson. In addition to his coaching credentials, Senisi has organized and developed several lacrosse camps throughout Maryland.

Austin Mitchell



Austin is a two-year letter winner at UMBC where he played Midfield. Named 2016 JUCO Preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse. Earned Second Team All-American as midfielder at Howard Community College, along with First Team All-Region and First Team All-JUCO in the midfield position.

At Reservoir High School, he earned First Team All-County at Attack.  He also played football and was named Second-Team All-County at Tight End.

A Psychology Major intending on continuing his education in either clinical or general experimental psychology.

Benin Bembry



Growing in Ellicott City, MD lacrosse was inevitable.

Benin learned the game in the Howard County Youth Lacrosse Program and eventually moved on to the Cobra travel program. His high school career started at Wilde Lake where he garnered Washington Post 1st Team All Hoco accolades.

He finished his high school career at the Phelps School a boarding school outside Philadelphia being selected to the 2005 US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase game played in St. Louis.

Collegiality at UMBC, he was a three-year letter winner at attack for Hall of Fame Coach Don Zimmerman. There, he was lucky enough to be a part of back-to-back America East Championship Teams (2008 & 2009) and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Upon graduation from UMBC he directed the lacrosse program at Camp Cobbossee in Monmouth, Maine, a premier 7-week boys’ sports camp and served as the assistant Coach at Howard Community College (2014-16, 2018-present).

Most recently he served as Head Coach of Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys a middle school program (6th-8th) that participated in the Baltimore Urban Lacrosse League run by Living Classrooms.
